Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is directed by James Gunn, who wrote the screenplay with Nicole Perlman, and features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. In Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill forms an uneasy alliance with a group of extraterrestrial misfits who are on the run after stealing a coveted orb. Producer Kevin Feige first publicly mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy as a potential film in 2010, and Marvel Studios announced that the film was in active development at the San Diego Comic-Con International in July 2012. Gunn entered negotiations to write and direct the film that August. Marvel's comic books have featured two separate "Guardians" teams, the first group originally introduced in a 1969 issue of "Marvel Super-Heroes", eventually getting their own short-lived comic book in the early 1990s.

The cast of characters includes Star-Lord, played by the amiable Chris Pratt, Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Vin Diesel's Groot the tree-like being, and Zoe Saldana's Gamora, who will appeal to "Avatar" fans. The second trailer for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, and Zoe Saldana, has been released Disney and Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy has unveiled a second trailer introducing the motley crew of space bandits and bruisers of the August 1 superhero team-up. Chris Pratt stars as Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) alongside Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Gregg Henry, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel. The new trailer offers a closer look at the lineup of heroes and villains for those not already intimately familiar with the lesser-known Marvel comic book characters. Peter Quill (buff Chris Pratt) and the other Guardians are a bunch of wacky, potentially volatile outlaws that band to, you know, save the world. Disney/Marvel just dropped an all-new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's loaded with new goodies for fans of the utterly bananas comic book adaptation. The new trailer debuted on the movie's Facebook page after a Q&A with cast members Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and director James Gunn.

The Marvel marketing team announced the trailer and hangout on Friday, the day they unveiled a stunning new poster for the film, which comes out August 1. The new trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Marvel’s upcoming space epic starring Chris Pratt, has just hit online… Here’s everything we noticed… Quill is escaping from Korath the Pursuer, played by Djimon Honsou. Here, Quill is casually tossing the Orb. Looks like Ronan’s hammer isn’t just good for hammering. During a Facebook chat before the launch of the trailer, director James Gunn teased that the most beautiful scene in the movie involved Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). When we talked to Karen Gillan, she teased the, “big, girlie fight” between her character and Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Benicio del Toro plays The Collector, who was first glimpsed post-credits in “Thor: The Dark World.” Groot may be a big softie, but he’s a big softie. The moment we’ve been waiting for since Vin Diesel was cast. Definitely the most disturbing moment in the trailer, as Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) adjusts himself. John C. Reilly is also a member of the Nova Corps, working for Nova Prime.
